When figuring out your most special and important day, adding an extra cost like wedding insurance might not seem worthwhile. It’s already incredibly expensive, and things probably won’t go wrong, right?

That’s where you might be horribly mistaken, unfortunately.

Dan Gerecht shared his story with USA Today when he had purchased wedding insurance for his daughter because she was planning a wedding during hurricane season. However, the insurance came in handy when the venue shut down just months before her big day.

Wedding insurance can help you if a vendor backs out or goes out of business, weather-related issues, if someone is injured at your wedding, for a medical issue in the family, or if any parts of your outfits are ruined or lost.
